February 7, 2024, Middletown, Conn. – Jessica Welt, PsyD, has been named Vice President of Development for the Moses/Weitzman Health System (MWHS), the nation’s first primary care health system focused on underserved communities. She previously had served as CEO and Clinical Director of the Child Guidance Center of Southern CT (CGC), a part Community Health Center, Inc., an affiliate of MWHS.
Dr. Welt has more than fifteen years of experience in the nonprofit sector. At CGC, she raised funds to support its pediatric mental health programs in lower Fairfield County and spearheaded a campaign that raised over $1 million to create a therapeutic garden at CGC’s main Stamford location. She will now replicate CGC’s successful fundraising model across the health system.
“Jessica Welt demonstrated exceptional fundraising prowess as CEO of the Child Guidance Center of Southern CT. Thus, we are incredibly pleased she will be leading development for the entire Moses/Weitzman Health System,” commented Mark Masselli, MWHS President and CEO. “Dr. Welt will play a key role in helping the system grow and better serve its constituents across the United States and abroad.”
“I am excited to join with Mark, the Board, the outstanding leadership team and our generous supporters to further the work of building relationships within the community and advancing the mission of the Moses/Weitzman Health System,” Dr. Welt said. “This is a pivotal time in history where individuals and corporations who believe in philanthropy will be looking to support access to health care for all, regardless of their ability to pay. I look forward to advancing the mission of MWHS and making a lasting impact on healthcare for underserved communities.”
Dr. Welt holds a B.A. from Tufts University and earned her doctoral degree from The Graduate School of Applied and Professional Psychology at Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey. She is a licensed psychologist in Connecticut and New York.
